First up in my tips and tricks of the trade is one of the simplest but most important subjects - skincare and skin preparation.
First, find a good cleanser to remove pollutants and soften the skin.
Next is toner which refines your pores and creates a smooth canvas for your makeup.
Now for exfoliating. Don't underestimate its importance. Exfoliating buffs the skin and rejuvenates the cells which does more for your complexion and appearance than hundreds of dollars of product.
A mask comes next which hydrates, purifies and boosts the skin.
Finish with moisturising. Find a single moisturiser to hydrate and serve as a second skin. It will become one of your best friends.
Eye cream should be applied in the morning, preferably one containing SPF - we're Aussies after all!
On that note, it's essential that you wear a sunscreen to complement and preserve the benefits of your skincare regime.
Remember that your skin is constantly evolving depending on what you eat, drink, how often (or how little) you exercise and sleep, and how you are feeling. It's important that your choice of moisturiser, beauty regime and makeup evolves accordingly.
The best way to have your skin analysed is with a facial. Adelaide is home to some world class beauty salons, so there's no reason not to treat yourself - believe me, your skin will thank you!
